Wireless Pad Gives Teacher Mobility to Manage Interactive Lessons from Anywhere in the Classroom

The Interwrite Pad is a bluetooth wireless device which gives the teacher the flexibility and the mobility to manage interactive lessons from anywhere in the classroom. The easy-to-use Interwrite Workspace that comes with the Interwrite Pad includes free digital library images, simulations and lessons along with tools for creating, displaying, annotating, recording and sharing lessons with others. Susan Lareau, Media Specialists and Librarian will demonstrate the use of the Interwrite Pad and discuss how the interactive device is being integrated into the classroom instruction.

You may be using Open Source tools and not even know it, so let us find out a bit more at our March meeting. What is Open Source and what is available right now ? We’ll also be drawing on the resources of a MassCUE SIG group , MOSSSIG, and their blog at http://mosssig.wordpress.com. Each participant will go away with a free CDs of the Linux distribution from Ubuntu and Windows free open source software (FOSS).

SynchronEyes

The second hour (9:30 am - 10:30 am) will be an online demonstration of SynchronEyes from SMART Technologies by Sarah Richards, Software Sales Specialist

SynchronEyes, classroom management software, allows teachers to monitor and control student progress, communicate with students, distribute files among the class, and run polls and quizzes with students. It is an essential tool for keeping students on task, and for maintaining a focused learning environment in the computer lab.
